Pediatric Speech Therapy
Susan Doherty, MA, CCC-SLP is a licensed speech-language pathologist and the founder of Moxie Speech Therapy LLC. She is also a mom to two school-aged daughters, and like many parents, has navigated the process of seeking support for her children at different stages of their development. These personal experiences have deepened her empathy, strengthened her commitment to family-centered care, and given her a meaningful understanding of what it feels like to advocate for a child.
Before becoming an SLP, Susan spent five years as a school counselor, where she discovered her true passion: helping children with communication challenges thrive, both in their daily lives and within the school system. That passion led her back to graduate school and into a career that combines her love of language, neurodiversity, advocacy, and child development.
Susan holds master’s degrees in both speech-language pathology and school counseling, and earned her SLP degree from the University of Colorado Boulder. She has worked in a variety of educational and therapeutic settings, including early intervention, where she supports infants and toddlers in building foundational communication skills. She works with children of all ages with a range of communication needs, including speech sound disorders, language delays, fluency challenges, autism, and those who use AAC.
Susan’s approach to therapy is holistic and family-centered. She loves partnering with parents and caregivers, not only to support their child’s communication, but also to empower families with tools and strategies to advocate for their child’s needs in everyday life.
Outside of work, Susan enjoys spending time with friends and family. She loves listening to live music, snowboarding, hiking, and camping with her husband, their two daughters, and their dogs, Lucky and Gus.
