We teach American Mah Jongg, a version of Mahjong played with four players and its own set of rules, strategies, and an official strategy card.

Absolutely! Mahjong 101 is designed specifically for beginners. You'll get a hands-on introduction to American Mah Jongg, including tile identification, basic rules, game setup, the Charleston passing sequence, turn flow, and how to read the official strategy card.

You don't need any prior experience—just bring your curiosity!

Mahjong 101 is offered by appointment for a group of four friends. The class is designed as a two-part introduction to help you learn the fundamentals in a relaxed, social setting.

It's a great option if you'd like to learn Mahjong with friends rather than joining an established group.

Mahjong is a four-player game, so Mahjong 101 is designed for a group of four. Gather your friends and we'll help you learn the game together.

Mahjong 101 is recommended, but it isn't required if you've recently learned the fundamentals of American Mah Jongg elsewhere.

Mahjong 102 is intended for players who already understand the basic rules and are ready to practice, build confidence, and develop their strategy.

Guided Play is best for players who already know the fundamentals—ideally after completing Mahjong 101 and 102, or after taking a beginner lesson elsewhere.

If you understand how to play but still find yourself thinking, "Wait… what do I do now?", Guided Play is for you.

Open Play is open to Mahjong lovers of all levels, but you must already know the rules.

If you're completely new to Mahjong, we recommend starting with Mahjong 101 & 102, then guided play & then open play.

For Open Play, bring your official Mahjong strategy card. The tiles and other necessary supplies are provided.

For classes, we'll provide the materials needed to learn and play.
