Lauren Brittsan is the founder and primary therapist at MHFW. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Masters in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling from the University of Colorado Denver and is certified in perinatal mental health.
Lauren’s passion for helping women heal through the power of counseling and community is the direct result of her drive to normalize the need for mental health support, as well as her own lived experiences.
She works with women across the reproductive lifespan - particularly those struggling with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and individuals wanting to better understand all the stressors that come with life's changes and transitions. Lauren's specialty in perinatal mental health allows her to support those needing help as they navigate preconception planning, pregnancy, postpartum and beyond. She is trained in Perinatal Narrative Exposure Therapy (P-NET) which is a modality focusing on exploring and processing trauma related to birth, traumatic pregnancy, pregnancy/infant loss and more.
Her warm and empathetic approach makes her especially skilled at helping individuals and couples navigate difficult experiences such as high risk pregnancies and infertility. Lauren provides support to those who have experienced a perinatal loss and are in need of bereavement counseling.
Her goal is always to provide a non judgmental and warm environment where she can support her clients as they heal and cope.
